The overall width of the unit measures only an inch! The screen takes up most of that space, and the three bars on either side of the note readout give you the information you need to tune up. Vibrations from the guitar string travel through the guitar body, and the Joyo simply clip-on and picks up the physical energy.

Who cares how it actually works!? The point is the 306 model of tuner does a really great job keeping the performer honest, quietly and discretely filling him or her in about those subtleties in musical pitch that not all of us are so lucky to pick up on. The tuning mode stays at chromatic, but this allows you to tune other instruments, basically all those with strings and a suitable neck (width permitting) should be included on the list.
